Function of the Committee The Samiti will advise on the matters relating to the progressive use of Hindi in Official work of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj in accordance with the policies laid down and the guidelines issued by the Kendriya Hindi Samiti and Department of Official language in this regard from time to time. III. Tenure The tenure of the members of this committee shall ordinarily be three ye ars from the date of its constitution, provided that:- (a) Members of Parliament who are members of the Committee shall cease to be members of the Committee on ceasing to be Members of Parliament. (b) The ex -officio members of the Committee shall be member s of the Committee only so long as they hold office. (c) If a vacancy occurs by reason of the death of a member or resignation from the membership of the Committee, the member appointed to that place shall be a member only for the remainder of the three -year term of the Committee, and (d) In special circumstances, the tenure of the committee can be increased or decreased by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. IV. Travelling and other allowances As per Department of Official Language’s Office Memorandum No. II/20034/4/2005 -O.L (Policy -2) dated 03.02.2006. Travelling Allowance and Daily Allowance to Non Official Members of the Samiti will be paid as under: - a. The Members of Parliament nominated in this committee will be paid travelling Allowance and Daily a llowance for attending the meetings of the Samiti as per the provisions of the Members of Parliament (Salary, Allowance and Pension) Act, 1954 and Rules made the under and the amendments issued from time to time. b. Travelling Allowance and Daily Allowan ce to other Non -Official Members of the Samiti will be paid as per guidelines contained in the Department of Official Language’s Office Memorandum No. II/2/22034/0 4/86-O.I (A -2) dated 22 January, 1987 and in accordance with the prescribed rates and rules o f the Government of India as amended from time to time. V. General Headquarter of the Committee will be at New Delhi, but it may hold its meetings at any other station also, if required. VI. Order Ordered that a copy each of this Resolution be sent to all the Members of the Committee, all the State Governments and Union Territory Administrations, all Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, President's Secretariat, Vice -President's Secretariat, Prime Minister's Office, Cabinet Secretari at, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Lok Sabha Secretariat, Rajya Sabha Secretariat, NITI Aayog, Parliamentary Committee on Official Language, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Central Department of Revenue and be sent to the Pay and Accounts Off ice of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
