NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 15th July, 2026
G.S.R. 630(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Transplantation of
Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994 (42 of 1994), the Central Government hereby makes the following
rules further to amend the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Rules, 2014, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues (Second Amendment)
Rules, 2026.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Rules, 2014, in rule 33, for sub-rule (1), the
following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely: -
"(1)(a) Any person aggrieved by an order of the Authorisation Committee under sub-section (6) of section
9 of the Act, may, within a period of thirty days from the date of receipt of the order, prefer an appeal to the
respective State Government in the case of States and respective Government or Administrator in the case
of Union territories.
(b) Any person aggrieved by an order of the Appropriate Authority under sub-section (2) of section
15 or sub-section (2) of section 16 of the Act, may, within a period of thirty days from the date of receipt of
the order, prefer an appeal to the Central Government in the case of the Union territories and the respective
State Government in the case of States."
