The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued Notification S.O. 2621(E) on June 13, 2025, declaring the Central Government's intention to acquire land for the public purpose of building (including widening, two-lane with paved shoulder, or four-laning), maintenance, management, and operation of NH744. This action is exercised under powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The land to be acquired is located in the stretch of NH744 from Km. 31.8 to Km. 70.981 (near Collectorate office, Virudhunagar) in the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu. Any interested person may object to this acquisition within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 3C of the said Act. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, specifically the SDRO, Virudhunagar, who will provide an opportunity for hearing. The order issued by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the Act shall be final. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office. The Schedule details the land, with or without structures, across the taluks of Rajapalayam, Srivilliputhur, Sivakasi, and Watrap in Virudhunagar district, encompassing villages such as Melarajakularaman, Therku Venganallur, Samusigapuram, Muvaraivenran, Kalattur, Nathampatti, Kunnur, Viluppanur, Nallingapperi, Muthuvenkatarayapuram, AttikulamSengulam, Thailakulam, Pillaiyarkulam, Deyvendri, Mangalam, and S. Ammapatti. The land types include Private (Dry and Wet) and Government (Poramboke), with a total area of 5.934 hectares to be acquired. The notification is identified by F. NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 13th June, 2025

S.O. 2621(E). In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways
Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for
the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building
(widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.,), maintenance, management and operation of NH744 in the
stretch of land from Km. 31.8 to Km. 70.981 (Collectorate office,Virudhunagar) in the district of VIRUDHUNAGAR
in the state of TAMIL NADU, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land.

Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this
notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section(1) of
section 3C of the said Act.

Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, SDRO, Virudhunagar in writing and
shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard,
either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further
enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections.

Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final.

The land plans and other details of the land to be acquired under their notification are available and can be inspected
by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
