Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued Notification S.O. 711(E) dated 14th February 2024, notifying, with Cabinet approval dated 1st February 2024, the determination of the Marketing Margin on domestic gas supplied to Fertilizer (Urea) plant producers. The Marketing Margin is set at up to Rupees 200 per 1000 SCM (at NCV of 10,000 Kcal/SCM), or the actual marketing margin paid/charged, whichever is less, applicable to domestic gas produced within the country and supplied to Fertilizer (Urea) plants for the period from 1st May 2009 to 17th November 2015. The notification directs that the Department of Fertilizers will consider this amount for determining payments to urea plants where the marketing margin was not previously included in subsidy payments due to non-finalization of the amount. Marketing Margin upto ₹ 200 per 1000 SCM (@NCV of 10,000 Kcal/SCM) or actual marketing margin paid/charged, whichever is less, on any domestic gas produced within the country and supplied to Fertilizer (Urea) plants producers may be considered for the period 01.05.2009 to 17.11.2015. ii.
