Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 1317(E) dated March 13, 2026, issued in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), declares its intention to acquire land. This land is required for public purpose, specifically for the building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.), maintenance, management, and operation of NH37 (New NH-715) in the stretch from Km. 315.315 to Km. 403 (Office of the District Commissioner, Golaghat) within the GOLAGHAT district of ASSAM state. Any person interested in the said land may object within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, by submitting a written objection to the Competent Authority, namely, the Addl District Commissioner, Golaghat, under sub-section (1) of section 3C of the Act. The Competent Authority shall provide a hearing and issue a final order under sub-section (2) of section 3C. The Schedule provides a detailed description of 237 plots of land, totaling 39.46863 hectares, across villages including Bagori N.C., Halwa NC, Bacha Gaon, Goshanibar, Borjuri Gaon, Borjuri Bagisa, Koroiati, and Latabari Bagan Gaon, categorized as Government, Private, and Common, and types such as Agriculture, Non Agriculture, Residential, Commercial, State Government, ROADSIDE, and VILLAGE ROAD. In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.), maintenance, management, and operation of NH37 (New NH-715) in the stretch of land from Km. 315.315 to Km. 403 (Office of the District Commissioner, Golaghat) in the district of GOLAGHAT in the state of ASSAM, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land. Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section (1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, Addl District Commissioner, Golaghat in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub- section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final. The land plans and other details of the land to be acquired under their notification are available and can be inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
