NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 1 st January, 2025
No. 29-26/2024-LI — The Postal Life Insurance (PLI) / Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI)
schemes, which are being governed by “Post Office Life Insurance Rules, 2011” published on 28th April
2011 in the Gazette of India No. 85 (Part-I Section-I Extraordinary), shall henceforth be governed through
Post Office Regulations, 2024 notified vide Gazette No. S.O. 5440(E) dated 16.12.2024 in exercise of
powers conferred under Post Office Act, 2023 and Post Office Rules, 2024.

The content of the existing Post Office Life Insurance Rules, 2011 including amendments and
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued from time to time, shall continue as administrative
instructions, till issuance of revised administrative instructions.
