NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th September , 2024
S.O. 3907(E).— Whereas, M/s. New Chennai Township Private Limited, had proposed under section 3 of
the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific
Special Economic Zone for Multi Service, at Seekinankuppam, (Paramankeni and Vellur Villages), Cheyyur Taluk,
Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub -section (1) of
section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, had notified an area of 121.94
hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number
S.O. 1981(E) dated 23rd November, 2007;
AND, WHEREAS, M/s. New Chennai Township Private Limited has now proposed for de -notification of
44.7305 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter
No.7493388/MIB.1/2024 -1 dated 30th July, 2024. Further, after de -notification, the de -notified parcels of land would
be utilized toward the creation of infrastructure which would sub -serve the objective of the SEZ as originally
envisaged. Such land parcels after de -notification will conform to Land Use guidelines/master plans of the
Government of Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the
proposal for de -notification of an area of 44.7305 hectares of the Special Economic Zone.
NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub -section (8) of
section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub -section (1) of section 4
of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the
Central Government hereby de -notifies an area of 44.7305 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 77.2095
hectares, comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the table, namely: -
