Telangana State Industrial Corporation Limited (formerly M/s. Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited) had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the sai d Act) to set up a Special Economic Zone for Bio -technology sector at Genome Valley, Village Lalgdai Malakped, Mandal Shameerpet, District Ranga Reddy, in the State of Telangana (erstwhile Andhra Pradesh); AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in the exercise of the powers conferred by sub -section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, notified an area of 20.44 hectares and later notified an additional area 2.136 hectares and de -notified an area of 12.35 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Numbers S.O. 2636 (E) dated 20.10.2009 and S.O. 1324 (E) dated 31.03.2016, respectively; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Telangana State Industrial Corporation Limited has now proposed to de -notify the entire area of 10.226 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Telangana has given No Objection Certificate to the proposal vide letter No. 266/TSIIC/PROJECTS/GENOME/BIO SEZ/2009 dated 17th May, 2021. After de -notification, the de - notified parcels would be utilized for industrial purpose and creation of infrastructure which would sub -serve the objective of the SEZ as originally envisaged. The land parcel after de -notification will confirm to land use guidelines/master plans of the respective State Government; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de -notification of entire area of 10.226 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in the exercise of the powers conferred by the first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except for things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
