NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th July, 2024
S.O. 2723(E).—Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for granite processing industries sector in SIPCOT Industrial Growth Centre, Bargur, Uthangarai and Pochampali Taluk, Krishnagiri District in the State of Tamil Nadu;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, notified an area of 153.830 hectares and subsequently, de-notified two areas of 58.290 hectares and 34.83 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Gazette Notification Numbers S.O. 595(E) dated 15th March, 2010, S.O. 2835(E) dated 09th October, 2015 and S.O. 4425(E) dated 21st September, 2022, respectively;
AND, WHEREAS, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for de-notification of 10.10 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. 5801731/MIB.1/2023-1, dated 15th March, 2024;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 10.10 hectares of the Special Economic Zone;
NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 10.10 hectares, thereby making resultant notified area as 50.61 hectares. The S.F. numbers and the areas for de-notification are given below in the table, namely:-
