The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 2100(E) dated 9th May, 2025, exercising powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), declares its intention to acquire land for public purpose. The land is required for the building, widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning, maintenance, management and operation of NH-717A in the stretch from Km. 96.254 to Km. 101.554 (Reshi-Rhenock section) in the district of Pakyong in the state of Sikkim. Any person interested in the said land may object within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 3C of the said Act. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, namely, the District Collector, setting out the grounds. The Competent Authority shall provide an opportunity of being heard and may allow or disallow objections by order under sub-section (2) of section 3C, which shall be final. Land plans and details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office. The schedule provides a brief description of the land, including survey/plot numbers, type, nature, and area in hectares, totaling 2.46 hectares across Villages Rhenock and Rhenock Bazar in Taluk Rongli, Pakyong District, Sikkim.

Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section(1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, District Collector in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final. The land plans and other details of the land to be acquired under their notification are available and can be inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
