The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, via Notification S.O. 2114(E) dated 9th May, 2025, declares the Central Government's intention to acquire land for public purpose, specifically for building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.,), maintenance, management, and operation of NH37 in the stretch from Km. 24.560 to Km. 37.650 in the district of Cachar, state of Assam. This declaration is made in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). Any person interested in the said land may object within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, as per sub-section (1) of section 3C of the Act. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, identified as the Additional District Commissioner, stating the grounds. The Competent Authority shall provide a hearing opportunity and make a final order under sub-section (2) of section 3C. Land plans and details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office. The notification also includes a rectification to 3A Gazette notification vide S.O. 3732 Dated 27.11.2024 (and S.O. 3732 Dated 02.09.2024 as per table headers), changing the 'Type of Land' from 'Private' to 'Government' for 23 survey numbers in Uttar Lalpani (N.C Village) and Saisel Punjee (N. C Village) to match verified land details.

In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, the brief description of which is given in the Schedule below, is required for building (widening/two lane with paved shoulder/four laning etc.,), maintenance, management and operation of NH37 in the stretch of land from Km. 24.560 to Km. 37.650 in the district of CACHAR in the state of ASSAM, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land. Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section(1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, Additional District Commissioner in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final. The land plans and other details of the land to be acquired under their notification are available and can be inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
