This notification, in pursuance of Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, formally establishes nineteen new or revised Indian Standards, all effective from March 6, 2026. For fifteen of these standards, specified previous versions (including IS 868: 1990 for Sealing Wax, IS 1312 - 1980 for Methyl Bromide, IS 2557: 1994 for Annatto Colour for Food Products, IS 3387: 2004 for Manual Toothbrush, IS 5191: 1993 for Sodium Alginate, Food Grade, IS 7163: 1989 for Potassium Iodide, IS 7415 - 1974 for Aniline, IS 8153 - 1986 for Sensory Evaluation of Fresh Fruits, IS 8497 - 1982 for Paraquat Dichloride Water Soluble Concentrate, IS 9358 - 1980 for Triallate Emulsifiable Concentrate, IS 13328: 1992 for Triadimefon, Technical, IS 13454: 1992 for Pirimiphos-Methly Wettable Powder, IS 13456: 1992 for Pirimiphos Methyl Space Spray, IS 13785: 1993 for Dodine Wettable Powder, and IS 14549: 1998 for Hexaconazole, Technical) will remain in force concurrently until their official withdrawal on September 6, 2026. The remaining four newly established standards (IS 19522: 2026 for Safety Harness for Child to be Carried on Two Wheelers, IS 19561: 2026 for Sodium Cyanide — Code of Safety, IS 19562: 2026 for Maize or Corn Silage as Livestock Fodder, and IS 19575: 2026 for Efficiency Assessment of Anion Exchange Membrane, Proton Exchange Membrane and Alkaline Water Electrolysers) do not supersede any prior existing standards.
