Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation Limited had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a Special Economic Zone for Engineering sector at Village Survadi and Nandal, Taluka Phaltan, District Satara , in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS , the Central Government, in the exercise of the powers conferred by sub -section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, notified an area of 101.25 hectares and later de -notified an area of 48.1695 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification dated 04.08.2010 and dated 30.10.2017, respectively; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation Limited has now proposed to de - notify the entire area of 53.0805 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given No Objection Certificate to the proposal vide letter No. SEZ -2022/CR -106/Ind -2 dated 27th July, 2023. After de -notification, the de -notified parcels of land will be utilised toward creation of infrastructure which would sub -serve the objective of the SEZ as originally envisaged. The State Govt. also certified that the de -notified parcels of land will conform to land use guidelines/ master plan of the State Government; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de -notification of entire area of 53.0805 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in the exercise of the powers conferred by the first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except for things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
