The functions of the Committee will be to review the implementation of the Official Language Policy as envisaged in the Constitution of India, Official Languages Act & the Rules made thereunder, decisions of the Kendriya Hindi Samiti and the instructions issued by the Department of Official Language and also to render advice in regard to increase use of Hindi in the working of the Ministry of Home Affairs and its Attached and Subordinate offices. Tenure of the Committee 3. The tenure of the Committee will be for three years from the date of its constitution. The Members of the Parliament, who are members of the Committee, shall cease to be members of the Committee on the dissolution of the House or on expiry of their term or otherwise ceasing to be member of the House. If a vacancy arises in the Committee, the member nominated against that vacancy shall hold office for the remaining period. Under special circumstances, the tenure of the Committee may be curtailed or extended. Travelling and other allowances 4. The non-official members attending the meetings of the Committee would be paid TA and DA as per the guidelines contained in the Deptt. of Official Language OM No. 11/20034/4/86-OL(A2) dated January 22, 1987 and as per as amended the prescribed rates and rules as mentioned from time to time by the Govt. of India. 5. The Headquarters of the Committee shall be at New Delhi. The meetings of this committee will be generally conducted at New Delhi. ORDER Ordered that a copy of this resolution be communicated to all the members of this Committee, all the State Governments and the Union Territory Administrations, all the Ministries and the Deptts. of the Govt. of India, President Secretariat, Prime Minister Office, Cabinet Secretariat, Niti Ayog, Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Lok Sabha Secretariat and Rajya Sabha Secretariat.
