L. -33004/99 EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 162] NEW DELHI , MON DAY , MARCH 1 1, 2024 /PHALGUNA 21, 1945 CG-DL-E-12032024-252905 MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 11th March, 2024 G.S.R. 174(E).—WHEREAS the draft of certain rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, was published, as required by sub -section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), vide notification of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, number G.S.R. 919(E), dated the 27th December, 2023, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part -II, Section 3, Sub -section (i), inviting objections a nd suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to public; AND WHEREAS copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public on the 27th December, 2023; AND WHEREAS, objections and suggestions received in respect of the said draft rules have been duly considered by the Central Government; NOW, THEREFO RE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub -section(1) of section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, namely: - 1. Short t itle and commencement. -(1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles ( Sixth Amendment) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, in rul e 138, in sub -rule (4), in clause (d), after the words “a non -greasy base,” the words and figure “a tube of Feracrylum of 1% gel,” shall be inserted.
