This notification, issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards under the Department of Consumer Affairs on December 10, 2025, with reference HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1385), formally establishes nine new Indian Standards and concurrently withdraws several previous versions. Notable established standards include IS 13925 (Parts 1-4): 2025 for Shunt Capacitors for a.c. Power systems having a rated voltage above 1 000 V, IS 15086 (Part 8): 2025 for Metal Oxide Surge Arresters for a.c. Systems above 1 kV, IS 16784: 2025 for Composite Suspension and Tension Insulators for a.c. Voltage greater than 1 000 V and d.c. Voltage greater than 1 500 V, and IS 17520 (Part 3): 2025 for Safety-Related Sensors Used for the Protection of Persons. Additionally, IS/IEC 60154-3: 1982 for Flanges for Waveguides replaces two sections of IS 10738: 1991, and IS/IEC 62896: 2024 for Hybrid Insulators replaces IS/IEC TS 62896: 2015.
