L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-11122024-259292 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 694] NEW DELHI, MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2024 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (Railway Board) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 6th December, 2024 G.S.R. 756(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4B read with section 198 of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Independent Member(Selection and Appointment) rules, 2007, namely:- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Independent Member (Selection and Appointment) Amendment Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Independent Member (Selection and Appointment) Rules, 2007, in rule 4, for sub-rule (1), the following sub-rule shall be substituted, namely:- "(1) The Independent Member shall be selected by a Search-cum-Selection Committee comprising of the following members, namely:- (a) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board as Chairperson; (b) Member (Infrastructure), Railway Board and ex-officio Chairman, Rail Land Development Authority, as Member; (c) Director General (Human Resources), Railway Board as Member; (d) Vice Chairman of the Authority in attendance; and (e) A person of eminence and expert in the relevant field, who is not in the service of Indian Railways or its Public Sector Undertaking, to be nominated by the Central Government, as Member."
