By G.S.R. 383(E) dated 11th July 2024, the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) made the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin to commemorate the occasion of 75 years Celebration of Supreme Court of India) Rules, 2024, under clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), effective from the date of publication in the Official Gazette, authorizing minting of a Seventy Five Rupees denomination commemorative coin that is circular with a 44 millimeter outside diameter and 200 serrations, composed of pure silver (99.9 per cent, with tolerance of 998.8 parts per 1000 and above), with a standard weight of 40 grams (permissible weight tolerance of 39.995 to 40.005 grams); the obverse bears the Lion Capitol of the Ashoka Pillar with the legend 'Satyameva Jayate', the word 'Bharat' in Devanagari script and 'INDIA' in English flanking it, plus the rupee symbol and denominational value '75', while the reverse depicts the Ashoka Chakra, the Supreme Court of India building and a book, with '75 Years' and the year '2024' along with Devanagari and English inscriptions naming the Supreme Court of India. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-11072024-255349 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 355] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, JULY 11, 2024/ASHADHA 20, 1946 MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Economics Affairs) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 11th July, 2024 G.S.R. 383(E). —In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011(11 of 2011), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: - 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Coinage (Issue of Commemorative Coin to commemorate the occasion of 75 years Celebration of Supreme Court of India) Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Denomination of coin.- The coin of Seventy five Rupees denomination shall only be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government on the occasion of 75 years Celebration of Supreme Court of India. 3. Design.- The design of the coin shall be as specified in the First Schedule annexed to these rules. 5. Standard weight and remedy allowed.- The standard weight of the coin of denomination reffered in rule 2 shall be coined to commemorate the occasion of 75 years of Celebration of Supreme Court of India and the remedy allowed in making of such coin shall be as specified in the Second Schedule to these rules. THE FIRST SCHEDULE (See rule 4) SEVENTY FIVE RUPEES OBVERSE: This face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word "भारत" in Devnagri script and on the right periphery with the word "INDIA" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “*” and denominational value "75" in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol. REVERSE: The face of the coin shall bear the symbolic image of Ashoka Chakra, building of Supreme Court of India and a book. "75 Years", "यतो धर्मस्ततो जयः” and the year "2024" in international numerals shall be written below the image. The inscription "सर्वोच्च न्यायालय, भारत" shall be written in Devnagari script on the upper periphery of the coin and the inscription "SUPREME COURT OF INDIA” in English shall be depicted on the lower periphery of the coin..
