L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-11042025-262398 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (i) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 184] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9, 2025/CHAITRA 19, 1947 MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 09 April, 2025 G.S.R. 223(E).—WHEREAS the draft of certain rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, was published, as required by sub- section (1) of section 212 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways number G.S.R. 691 (E), dated the 8th November, 2024, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to public; AND WHEREAS copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public on the 8th November, 2024; AND WHEREAS, no objections and suggestions were received from the public in respect of the said draft rules; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub- section(1) of section 110 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of 1988), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, namely:- 1. Short Title and commencement.-(1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (Second Amendment) Rules, 2025. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, in rule 126, - (a) for the words and brackets "(for testing of combine harvester)", the words and brackets “(for testing of combine harvester and agricultural tractor)" shall be substituted; (b) after the words, brackets and letters “or the National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX), Indore", the words and brackets "or the Southern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh (for testing of power tiller)" shall be inserted.
