The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued S.O. 110(E) dated 10 January 2024, declaring under sub-sections (1) and (2) of Section 3D of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) that the land specified in the annexed Schedule, located in the stretch from Km 11.200 to Km 16.300 of NH-543 in Balaghat Tehsil, Balaghat District, Madhya Pradesh (under the Competent Authority (Land Acquisition) and Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue), Balaghat), is required for widening/four-laning, maintenance, management and operation of the highway, and that the land shall, upon publication, vest absolutely in the Central Government free of encumbrances. This follows the earlier declaration of intent under Section 3A(1) (notification No. 4209 dated 22 September 2023), publication of that notification's substance in Dainik Bhaskar and The Hitvada on 16 November 2023 as required under Section 3A(3), consideration and settlement of objections filed under Section 3-C, and submission of the Competent Authority's report under Section 3D(1).

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 10th January, 2024

S.O. 110(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways, 4209 Dated:22/09/2023, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section
(ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to
as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed
to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation of NH543 in
the stretch of land from Km. 11.200 to Km. 16.300 (Competent Authority (Land Acquisition) & Sub Divisional
Officer (Revenue), Balaghat,Tehsil - Balaghat, District- Balaghat) in the district of BALAGHAT in the state of
MADHYA PRADESH
And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Dainik Bhaskar” and “The
Hitvada" both dated 16.11.2023 under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;
And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;
And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
