The Bureau of Indian Standards (Department of Consumer Affairs), by notification Ref: HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (934) dated 19th June 2024, notifies under sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018 that the Indian Standards listed in the annexed Schedule have been established with effect from 17 June 2024. The Schedule establishes IS 6104:2024 (equivalent to IEC 62961:2018) 'Insulating Liquids Determination of Interfacial Tension with the Ring Method Method of Test (First Revision)', which withdraws IS 6104-1971 with effect from 17 July 2024; IS 8198 (Part 8):2024 'Steel Cylinders for Compressed Gases — Code of Practice, Part 8 Common Organic Refrigerant Gases (Second Revision)', which withdraws IS 8198 (Part 8):1993; IS 8198 (Part 10):2024 'Steel Cylinders for Compressed Gases — Code of Practice, Part 10 Methyl Bromide Gas (First Revision)', which withdraws IS 8198 (Part X)-1980; and IS 11739:2024 'Method of Recording Dust Ingress in Automotive Vehicles (First Revision)', which withdraws IS 11739-1986. It also establishes several new standards with no corresponding withdrawal (marked NA), including IS 18551:2024 (equivalent to ISO 13746:2019) 'Textile Floor Coverings Installation and Use on Stairs — Guidelines', and multiple parts of IS 18596 (equivalent to the IEC TS 62257 series) 'Recommendations for Renewable Energy and Hybrid Systems for Rural Electrification', covering Part 5 (Protection Against Electrical Hazards), Part 6 (Acceptance, Operation, Maintenance and Replacement) and Part 7 (Generators).
