In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of Sub-Section (3) of Section 5 read with clause (c) of Sub-Section (1) of Section 6 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956), the Central Government hereby appoints the following persons as Members of the University Grants Commission with immediate effect, for a term of three years or till further orders, whichever is earlier: 1. Dr. Vandana Mishra, Professor, Centre for Political Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; 2. Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Professor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi; 3. Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, Director and Professor, G.B. Pant Social Science Institute, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj; and 4. Prof. Tana Showren, Department of History, Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunanchal Pradesh. [F.
