The Bureau of Indian Standards (Department of Consumer Affairs), through Notification Ref: HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1379) dated 8th December, 2025, notifies the establishment of several Indian Standards in pursuance of Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. The established standards, effective 05 December 2025, include IS 17900 (Part 10): 2025 for Lifts, IS/IEC TS 61400-28: 2025 for Wind Energy Generation Systems, IS/IEC 61703: 2016 for Mathematical Expressions for Reliability, and IS/IEC 61709: 2017 for Electric Components. Concurrently, IS17386: 2020 (Electric Traction Lifts) will remain in force until its withdrawal on 05 June 2026, alongside IS 17900 (Part 10): 2025. Similarly, IS 7354 (Part 3): 2011 and IEC 60319: 1999 (Guide on Reliability of Electronic and Electrical Items) will remain in force until 05 June 2026, alongside IS/IEC 61709: 2017.
