Detailed Summary

The Bureau of Indian Standards, operating under the Department of Consumer Affairs, issued a notification dated 3rd December, 2025 (Ref: HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1377)), published in the Gazette of India on 5th December, 2025. In pursuance of Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, the Bureau hereby notifies the establishment of several new Indian Standards. Specifically, IS 16005 (Part 1): 2025 (ISO 13491-1: 2024) concerning 'Financial Services — Secure Cryptographic Devices (Retail) Part 1 Concepts and Requirements (Second Revision)' was established on 28th November, 2025. This new standard will remain in force concurrently with IS 16005 (Part 1): 2019 (ISO 13491-1: 2016) related to 'Financial Services — Secure Cryptographic Devices (Retail) Part 1 Concepts, Requirements and Evaluation Methods (First Revision)' until the latter is withdrawn on 28th May, 2026. Additionally, IS 19408: 2025 (ISO 5401: 2024) for 'Audit Data Collection — Customs and Indirect Tax Extension' and IS 19446: 2025 (ISO 5405: 2024) for 'Audit Data Collection Extension Government Regulated Financial Reports and Payroll' were also established on 28th November, 2025, with no corresponding standards to be withdrawn.
