By notification S.O. 3177(E) dated 6th August 2024, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways recorded that its earlier notification S.O. 09(E) dated 29th December 2023 (Gazette No. 09, published 1st January 2024, issued under section 3A(1) of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956)) had declared intent to acquire land for widening/four-laning, maintenance, management and operation of NH45A (Villupuram-Puducherry-Cuddalore-Nagapattinam), specifically the Sattanathapuram (Km. 123/800) to Nagapattinam (Km. 179/555) section of NH-45A (New NH-332), Package-IV, in Karaikal district, Union Territory of Puducherry. The substance of that notification was published in Daily Thanthi (Tamil, Tanjore edition) and The Hindu (English, Tiruchirapalli edition) on 20th February 2024 under section 3A(3); no objections were submitted under section 3C. The competent authority submitted its report under section 3D(1), and the Central Government, exercising powers under section 3D(1), declared the Schedule land should be acquired, with the land vesting absolutely in the Central Government free of all encumbrances under section 3D(2) upon publication. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 6th August, 2024

S.O. 3177(E).— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport
and Highways vide S.O.09(E) dated.29/12/2023 in Gazette No.09 published on 01/01/2024 in the Gazette of India,
Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway
Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to
acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.),
maintenance, management and operation of NH45A (Villupuram - Puducherry - Cuddalore - Nagapattinam) in the
stretch of land from Sattanathapuram (Km. 123/800 to Nagapattinam (Km. 179/555) Section of NH-45A (New NH-
332) Package - IV in the District of KARAIKAL in the Union Territory of PUDUCHERRY.

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Daily Thanthi - Tamil Language -
Tanjore Edition” and “The Hindu - English Language - Tiruchirapalli Edition” both dated 20/02/2024 under sub-
section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas no objections were submitted before the Competent Authority under section 3C of the said Act;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.

Brief description of the land to be acquired, with or without structure, falling within NH45A (Villupuram-
Puducherry-Cuddalore-Nagapattinam) in the stretch of land from Sattanathapuram (Km. 123/800 to
Nagapattinam (Km. 179/555) Section of NH-45A (New NH-332) Package - IV in the District of KARAIKAL in
