Core Purpose

This Corrigendum makes corrections to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Amendment Regulations, 2026.

Detailed Summary

This Corrigendum, issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards on April 28, 2026, under F. No. BS/XI/11/01/2025-26, makes corrections to its previous notification of the same file number, the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Amendment Regulations, 2026, dated February 25, 2026, which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary [Part-III, Section-4]. The correction uniformly amends sub-paragraph (1) of paragraph 8 across Scheme-IV, Scheme-VII, and Scheme-IX in Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. Specifically, the phrase "The certificate of conformity shall be granted initially for five years." is substituted with "The certificate of conformity shall be granted initially upto five years." for Scheme-IV and Scheme-VII. For Scheme-IX, the phrase "The license to use the standard mark shall be granted initially for five years." is substituted with "The license to use the standard mark shall be granted initially upto five years.", thereby changing the fixed duration to a maximum duration of five years for both certificates of conformity and licenses to use the standard mark.
