NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 27th May, 2026
[PART II-SEC. 3(ii)]
S.O. 2777(E).— Whereas, M/s New Chennai Township Private Limited had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up two sector specific Special Economic Zones for (a) Light Engineering Sector SEZ (including Auto Ancillaries), and (b) Multi Services SEZ at Seekinankuppam Village, Cheyyur taluk, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu;
And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, had notified and de-notified the following areas at above Special Economic Zones as per the details given below: -

AND, WHEREAS, the area of each Special Economic Zone is as per the details given below: -

AND, WHEREAS, M/s New Chennai Township Private Limited has now proposed for amalgamation of the above mentioned two Special Economic Zones into one multi sector Special Economic Zone over total area of 203.2115 hectares;
AND, WHEREAS, the Board of Approval for Special Economic Zones recommended for issuance of a new notification for the amalgamated Special Economic Zone, rendering the previous notifications infructuous;
AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government, in supersession of previous notifications (as mentioned in the table above), hereby notifies an area of 203.2115 hectares for the amalgamated Multi-Sector Special Economic Zone of M/s New Chennai Township Private Limited, at Seekinankuppam Village, Cheyyur taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu.
