The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 1144(E) dated March 3, 2026, declares the acquisition of land specified in the annexed Schedule. This declaration follows an initial intention to acquire, published via S.O. 2434(E) dated May 30, 2025, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The purpose of acquisition is for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management, and operation of NH37 in the stretch from Km. 36.700 to Km. 37.500 in the Jiribam district of Manipur. The substance of the initial notification was published in "The Sangai Express" (English and Manipuri) on June 12, 2025, as per sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act. The Competent Authority considered and settled objections filed under Section 3-C and submitted its report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 3D of the Act. Upon publication of this notification, the acquired land, which includes various types such as Government land (River, Road, Non Agriculture Bari, Nala, Agriculture) and Private land (Non Agriculture Bari, Agriculture) from villages like 39-Leinangpokpi in Jiribam Taluk, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, as per sub-section (2) of section 3D of the Act. NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 3rd March, 2026

S.O. 1144(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport
and Highways, S.O.2434 (E) Dated:30/05/2025, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3,
Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956)
(hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in
the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and
operation of NH37 in the stretch of land from Km. 36.700 to Km. 37.500 in the district of Jiribam in the state of
MANIPUR

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in "The Sangai Express" in English
and "The Sangai Express" in Manipuri Language both dated 12.06.2025 ; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the
said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
