The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued S.O. 457(E) dated 2nd February 2024, referencing an earlier notification S.O. 4428(E) dated 10.10.2023 issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), which had declared intention to acquire land for widening/four-laning, maintenance, management and operation of NH29 from Km. 113+830 to Km. 145+712 (near Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Department of Revenue, Diphu) in Karbi Anglong district, Assam; the substance of that notification was published in "The Thekar" and "The Assam Tribune" on 28.10.2023 and 10.11.2023 under sub-section (3) of section 3A; the Competent Authority received and settled objections under section 3-C and submitted its report under sub-section (1) of section 3D; the Central Government, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 3D, declares the Schedule land should be acquired, and under sub-section (2) of section 3D the land vests absolutely in the Central Government free of encumbrances upon publication; the Schedule (partially reproduced in the input) lists private and government land parcels across villages including Dilai Gate, Rong Bong Pathar, Mon Teron, Mohendijua, Amlakhi Block nos. 1, 2 and 5, Hapjan Block no.1, and Dikrong Block nos. 1-4 in Diphu taluk, covering residential, agricultural and commercial land with named individual owners; the input text is truncated before the total area and signatory are shown.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 2nd February, 2024

S.O. 457(E).-Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways, S.O.4428 (E) Dated:10/10/2023, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-
section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule
annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation
of NH29 in the stretch of land from Km. 113+830 to Km. 145+712 (Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Department
of Revenue, Diphu) in the district of KARBI ANGLONG in the state of ASSAM

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in "The Thekar" and "The Assam
Tribune" both dated 28.10.2023 & 10.11.2023; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
