Specifically, for ITC(HS) codes including 1006 2000, 1006 3011, 1006 3019, 1006 3091, 1006 3099, 1006 4000 (Non-Basmati Rice) and 1006 3012, 1006 3092 (Basmati Rice), a Certificate of Inspection (CI) issued by the Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency is now mandatory only for exports to EU Member States and specific European countries: United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. For exports to all other European countries, the requirement for a CI from the Export Inspection Council/Export Inspection Agency is waived for a period of six months, effective from the notification date until April 2, 2026. This change limits the mandatory CI requirement for rice exports to a specific set of European destinations.
