This extension is made in public interest due to the continued existence of circumstances necessitating the original notification, and it maintains the same exemptions and permissions. The Central Government exercises powers conferred by section 12 of the Petroleum Act, 1934 (30 of 1934), read with rule 201 of the Petroleum Rules, 2002. The extension is valid until 30th June, 2026, or until further order, whichever occurs earlier, and all terms and conditions of the original notification remain unchanged.
