Detailed Summary

The Bureau of Indian Standards (Department of Consumer Affairs), through Notification Ref: HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1318) dated 14th August, 2025, in pursuance of Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, has established five new Indian Standards, effective 09 August 2025. These include revisions for Bicycle Rims (IS 624: 2025, Fourth Revision), Pitch-Bound Wire Reeds for Jute Looms (IS 1552: 2025, Third Revision), Textile Dyestuffs strength determination (IS 4459: 2025, Second Revision), Metallic Card Clothing Terminology (IS 9568 (Part 1): 2025, First Revision), and Carpet Yarn Made from Pure New Wool (IS 10921: 2025, First Revision). Concurrently, previous versions of these standards (IS 624: 2003, IS 1552: 1978, IS 4459: 2020, IS 9568 (Part I): 1980, and IS 10921: 1984) will remain in force until their withdrawal on 09 February 2026.
