No. RT-23018/04/2019-T(Part).—Whereas section 40 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016) envisages that the Central Government shall, in consultation with the Chief Commissioner, formulate rules for persons with disabilities laying down the standards of accessibility for the physical environment, transportation, information and communications, including appropriate technologies and systems, and other facilities and services provided to the public in urban and rural areas; And Whereas, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways released 'Accessibility Guidelines for Bus Terminals and Bus Stops' which were prepared after detailed consultation with stakeholders including consultation with Chief Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities; Now, therefore, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways hereby notifies the 'Accessibility Guidelines for Bus Terminals and Bus Stops' and the same is made available on the web site via link https://morth.nic.in/sites/default/files/circulars_document/1-Accesibility%20guidelines_Bus- Terminals0.pdf.
