Detailed Summary

This notification, S.O. 4014(E) issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on September 2, 2025, declares the acquisition of specific land for the building, maintenance, management, and operation of NH66 in the stretch from Km. 411.845 to Km. 438.6 within the Ernakulam district of Kerala. This declaration follows a previous intention to acquire, published via S.O. 3790 dated September 3, 2024, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The substance of the earlier notification was also published in Malayala Manorama and The Hindu on September 20, 2024, in compliance with sub-section (3) of section 3A of the Act. The Competent Authority considered and settled objections filed under Section 3-C and submitted its report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 3D. Consequently, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 3D, the Central Government declares the land specified in the Schedule should be acquired. Furthermore, under sub-section (2) of section 3D, upon publication of this notification, the total land area of 0.0092 Hectares, comprising plots like 235/17 (Government, Puramboke, 0.0011 Hectares) and 235/17-2 (Private, Dry, 0.001 Hectares and 0.0071 Hectares, partly owned by Kochi Metro Rail Limited), located in Kanayannur Taluk, Edappally North Village, Ernakulam District, Kerala, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-02092025-265896 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3909] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2025/BHADRA 11, 1947 MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 2nd September, 2025 S.O. 4014(E).— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 3790 Dated:03/09/2024, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation of NH66 in the stretch of land from Km. 411.845 to Km. 438.6 in the district of ERNAKULAM in the state of KERALA ; And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in Malayala Manorama and The Hindu dated 20.09.2024 ; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act; And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and settled the same appropriately; And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government; Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
