The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, through Public Notice No. 18/2025-26 dated 1st August, 2025, allocates a quantity of 5,841 Metric Tons (MT) of sugar for export from India to the European Union (EU) under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) for the period October 2025 to September 2026 (year 2025-26). This allocation is made in exercise of powers conferred under Paragraphs 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023. As per Notification No. 03/2015-20 dated April 20, 2015, the export of sugar (HS Code 17010000) to the EU under TRQ is 'Free' subject to the conditions specified in the 'Nature of Restrictions' in that notification. Certificates of Origin for preferential export of sugar to the EU, if required, will be issued by the Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, Mumbai, based on recommendations from the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) regarding eligibility. APEDA, New Delhi, will operate this quota as the implementing agency. Reporting requirements as notified by Notification No. 03/2015-2020 dated April 20, 2015, read with Notification No. 20/2015-2020 dated September 07, 2015, must be followed.
