Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, through Notification S.O. 2931(E) dated 30th June, 2025, declares the acquisition of land specified in an annexed schedule. This acquisition is for the building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway 56 (NH56) in the stretch from Km. 179.7 to Km. 208.3 (Prant Office, Jhagadia) in the Bharuch district of Gujarat. This declaration follows a previous notification, S.O. 2559(E) dated 2nd July, 2024, published under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), which expressed the Central Government's intention to acquire the land. The substance of the intention notification was published in 'Sandesh' and 'The Times of India' on 11th July, 2024, as per sub-section (3) of section 3A of the Act. Objections filed under Section 3C were considered and settled by the Competent Authority. Subsequently, the Competent Authority submitted its report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 3D of the Act. Upon receipt of this report and in exercise of powers under sub-section (1) of section 3D, the Central Government declared the land should be acquired. Furthermore, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D, the Central Government declares that upon publication of this notification, the land, totaling 0.0742 hectares across various private plots (e.g., Non Agriculture Shop/Shopping Center/Shed & Shop) in Netrang Taluk, Netrang Village, Bharuch District, Gujarat, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-02072025-264305 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2864] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, JULY 1, 2025/ASHADHA 10, 1947 MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 30th June, 2025 S.O. 2931(E). — Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 2559(E) Dated:02/07/2024, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub- section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation of NH56 in the stretch of land from Km. 179.7 to Km. 208.3 (Prant Office, Jhagadia) in the district of BHARUCH in the state of GUJARAT And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Sandesh" and "The Times of India" both dated 11/07/2024; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act; And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and settled the same appropriately; And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government; Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
