The Bureau of Indian Standards, under the Department of Consumer Affairs, issued a notification on June 24, 2025 (Ref: HQ-PUB013/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1273)), in pursuance of Sub-rule (1) of Rule (15) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. This notification announces the establishment of four new Indian Standards, effective from June 23, 2025. These include IS 7503: 2025 (ISO 1382: 2020) for 'Rubber Industry - Glossary of Terms (First Revision)', IS 12863: 2025 (ISO 9031: 1987) for 'Air Cargo Equipment - Handling Systems for Unit Load Devices (ULDs) - Symbols for Pictorial Representation (First Revision)', IS 19288: 2025 (ISO 16091: 2018) for 'Space Systems - Integrated Logistic Support', and IS 19297: 2025 (ISO 23806: 2022) for 'Ships and Marine Technology — Cyber Safety'. Concurrently, two older standards, IS 7503: 2018 (ISO 1382: 2012) 'Glossary of Terms Used in Rubber Industry' and IS 12863: 1989 (ISO 9031: 1987) 'Symbols for the Pictorial Standardization of Aircraft Cargo Handling Systems for Unit Load Devices (ULDs)', are to be withdrawn on December 23, 2025, but will remain in force concurrently until that date.
