Disqualification criteria related to marriage and provisions for relaxation by the Central Government in consultation with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are also included. The Merchant Shipping Act, 2025 (24 of 2025), particularly sections 46 and 50, is consistently referenced for certification requirements. Departmental Promotion Committees' compositions are defined, and specific instances for UPSC consultation (direct recruitment, deputation) are outlined.
