The land is required for building (four/six-laning), maintenance, management and operation of a National Highway (number not yet assigned) over the stretch from design KM 0.000 to design KM 18.500, comprising a new 4/6-lane bridge across the river Ganga and its approach road connecting Matihani-Samho village, with a link road to Matihani village, in Begusarai district, Bihar. Any person interested in the land may object within twenty-one days of publication, under section 3C(1) of the Act, to the Competent Authority, namely the District Land Acquisition Officer, Begusarai, in writing and with grounds stated; the Competent Authority must hear the objector in person or through a legal practitioner before allowing or disallowing the objection, and its order under section 3C(2) is final. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority’s office. The Schedule lists, village-by-village in Begusarai taluk/district (including Bahdarpur, Chakbhelu, Saidpur Salha and Sonbarsa), each survey/plot number, type of land (Private, Common, or Sarkari/Government), nature of land (e.g. Bheeth, Bahag/garden, River, Parti Kadim), and area in both local units (acres) and hectares. Any person interested in the said land may, within twenty-one days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, object to the use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section(1) of section 3C of the said Act. Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority, namely, District Land Acquisition Officer, Begusarai, in writing and shall set out the grounds thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections. Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section 3C of the said Act shall be final.
