The Bureau of Indian Standards (Department of Consumer Affairs) issued a notification dated 22 July 2024 (Ref. HQ-PUB012/4/2020-PUB-BIS(971)), published 31 July 2024, under sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, notifying that five Indian Standards were established on 18 July 2024: IS 2993 (Part 1):2024 (based on IEC 60252-1:2010+AMD1:2013, for a.c. motor capacitor performance, testing, rating and safety requirements), replacing IS 1709-1984 (withdrawal date 18 July 2025); IS 2993 (Part 2):2024 (based on IEC 60252-2:2010+AMD1:2013, for a.c. motor start capacitors), replacing IS 2993:1998/IEC 252(1993) (withdrawal 18 July 2025); IS 6380:2024 for elastomeric insulation and sheath of electric cables, replacing IS 6380-1984 (withdrawal 18 October 2024); IS 12762 (Part 1):2024 (based on IEC 60904-1:2020) for measurement of photovoltaic current-voltage characteristics, replacing IS 12762 (Part 1):2010 (withdrawal 18 October 2024); and IS 12763:2024 (based on IEC 60891:2021) for temperature and irradiance corrections to measured photovoltaic I-V characteristics, replacing IS 12763:2013 (withdrawal 18 October 2024).
