                Detailed Summary
            

            
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, in notification S.O. 880(E) dated 23rd February 2024, declares under sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 3D of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) that land described in the annexed Schedule in the district of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra shall be acquired and shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances upon publication, for building, maintenance, management and operation of the Surat-Nashik-Ahmednagar Greenfield Expressway Section of a Greenfield Expressway from Km. 249.200 to Km. 292.400; this follows the Central Government's declaration of intention to acquire the land under section 3A via notification S.O. 4060(E) dated 12th September 2023, publication of the notification's substance in "Free Press Journal" (English) and "Lokmat" (Marathi) both dated 18th October 2023 under section 3A(3), consideration and settlement of objections filed under section 3-C, and submission of the Competent Authority's report under section 3D(1); the Schedule lists affected survey/plot numbers, land type, nature, area in hectares, and named landowners/interested persons in the villages of Dhanore, Songaon, and Malewadi/Dukrewadi in Taluk Rahuri, Ahmednagar district. The notification is issued under file number F. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 23rd February, 2024

S.O. 880(E).-Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways, number S. O. 4060 (E) Dated 12th September 2023, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part
II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of
1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land
specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (Six/Eight laning, etc.), maintenance,
management and operation of Greenfield Expressway in the stretch of land from Km. 249.200 to Km. 292.400 (Surat
Nashik Ahmednagar Greenfield Section) in the district of AHMEDNAGAR in the state of MAHARASHTRA

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Free Press Journal (English)” and
“Lokmat (Marathi)" both dated 18th October 2023; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
