This notification, S.O. 2570(E), issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on May 19, 2026, declares the acquisition of land for the building, maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway No-244. This action is taken by the Central Government under sub-section (1) and (2) of section 3D of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956). The land, located in the stretch from design Km. 12.850 to Km. 20.300 (including Goha Link Road - 2.016 Km) in the Doda district of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, was previously subject to an intention to acquire declared via notification S.O. 4552(E) dated October 7, 2025. Following the publication of the substance of the previous notification in "Daily Excelisor" on October 29, 2025, and the settlement of objections filed under Section 3-C by the Competent Authority, a report was submitted to the Central Government. Upon publication of this notification, the specified land, totaling approximately 2.1119538 Hectares across villages Mothi, Hambal (Taluk Doda) and Goha (Taluk Marmat), shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.

No. NHIDCL/PMU-JMU/DPR/Goha-Khellani/LA/2020-21/3D] SHAIKH AMINKHAN, Director MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 19th May, 2026 S.O. 2570(E). - Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, S.O.4552 (E) Dated:07/10/2025, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (two lane with paved shoulder etc.), maintenance, management and operation of National Highway No-244 in the stretch of land from design Km. 12.850 to Km. 20.300 (Goha Link Road - 2.016 Km) in district of Doda in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in "Daily Excelisor" (English) and "Amar Ujala" (Hindi) both dated 29.10.2025 ; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act; And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and settled the same appropriately; And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government; Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
