S.O. 4977(E) dated 19th November 2024, issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under sub-section (1) of section 3D of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), declares final acquisition of land specified in the annexed Schedule for the widening/four-laning, maintenance, management and operation of NH27 from Km. 15.945 to Km. 25.89 (under the jurisdiction of the District Commissioner, Darrang, Mangaldoi) in Darrang district, Assam, following the earlier declaration of intent under notification No. 1442 dated 16th March 2024 issued under section 3A of the Act, whose substance was published in "Amar Axom" (Assamese) and "The Sentinel" (English) dated 30th April 2024 under section 3A(3); objections filed under section 3-C were received, considered and settled by the Competent Authority, whose report was submitted to the Central Government under section 3D(1); pursuant to section 3D(2), the scheduled land shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, upon publication in the Official Gazette.

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 19th November, 2024

S.O. 4977(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road
Transport and Highways, 1442 Dated:16/03/2024, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part
II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956
(48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to
acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-
laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation of NH27 in the stretch of land from Km. 15.945 to
Km. 25.89 (O/o The District Commissioner,Darrang, Mangaldoi) in the district of DARRANG in the state
of ASSAM

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Amar Axom" in
Assamese Language and "The Sentinel” in English Language both dated 30.04.2024; under sub-section (3)
of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered
and settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent
authority has submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the
powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that the land specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government
hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said
Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
