This Ministry of Road Transport and Highways notification, issued in New Delhi on 29 December 2023 as S.O. 5512(E), records the final stage of a land acquisition proceeding for NH150A. It refers to an earlier notification (No. 2260 dated 23 May 2023) issued under Section 3A(1) of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), which declared intention to acquire land for building (widening/four-laning), maintenance, management and operation of NH150A between Km 358.5 and Km 414.205 (Special Land Acquisition Office, National Highways Authority of India, Hiriyur) in Chitradurga district, Karnataka, the substance of which was published in Deccan Herald and Prajavani on 25 June 2023 under Section 3A(3). It states that objections filed under Section 3-C were considered and settled, and the Competent Authority's report was submitted under Section 3D(1). Exercising powers under Section 3D(1), the Central Government declares that the Scheduled land should be acquired, and under Section 3D(2) declares that the land vests absolutely in the Central Government, free from encumbrances, upon publication. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th December, 2023

S.O. 5512(E). - Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport
and Highways, 2260 Dated:23/05/2023, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-
section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule
annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation
of NH150A in the stretch of land from Km. 358.5 to Km. 414.205 (Special Land Acquisition Office National
Highways Authoity of India Hiriyur) in the district of CHITRADURGA in the state of KARNATAKA

And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “Deccan Herald” and “Prajavani"
both dated 25.06.2023; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act;

And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and
settled the same appropriately;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
